Sigh. One of the dogs ran to the door when I came in catching the extension cord to the Christmas tree fully with her body. Tree came down and out of its stand, daring all the water into the skirt around the tree and floor. Many ornaments fell off some pulled by the wires she dragged.

Is anyone else bothered by the sentence, "He was a former ....." Isn't he still a former? My high school English teacher, years later introduced me saying, "He used to be my former student." So I had the please of correcting his grammar. Life is good.

Companies deduct executive compensation from their profit. A simple law, not determining executive compensation, but limiting how much they can deduct as a legitimate business expense would do a lot toward bringing executive salaries down.
