@nytimes.com reported Friday that Ryan told UVA's board of visitors that he would step down amid pressure from the US Justice Department.

DOJ was reportedly pressuring Ryan to resign in as a condition to settle a civil rights investigation into UVA's diversity, equity and inclusion practices.
