Good thread from Vijay here…

I see it as one of our roles as educators/mentors to shepherd young people through these issues. This is what you’re into doing? Here’s a bunch of people that address(ed) similar things to you… this is why they, and what they do (and you too), matter…
i mentor young musicmakers & writers and can confirm that many of them don't want to surrender to another person's world, especially if it's from >5 years ago. it's as if they don't want to find common ground with other artists. they see their own work as singular, and end up reinventing the wheel

Was very nice to listen to this documentary… very relatable, particularly, the realisation that you’re nodding and smiling during conversation, when you shouldn’t be nodding and smiling… and putting off getting hearing aids for so long…
A surprisingly lovely documentary in which Liverpool poet Paul Farley comes to terms with his hearing loss and the prospect of hearing aids. Also great to hear such Scouse phrases as “made up” and “give it a swerve” in a BBC doc. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Also we’ll have another combination of the letters U, C, and D in Ireland…
