Gotta say Auckland Transport is getting better. Clean carriages, more trains, loads of staff on the ground walking around offering help. I know I've moaned about it for years but credit where it's due, it seems to be on the up and up. 👍

Took the dog for 10km through Waiuku Forest this morning. Lovely track, but quite frankly that’s both of us sorted for the day.

E-bikes as rapid transit. There is a sweet spot, 8-14km from the city centre, where gaps in the mass rapid transit network and slow buses can be filled by e-bikes. Map = 45 minute e-bike travel time.

Three major crashes today on roads where the current NZ govt *increased* the speed limit (previously lowered for safety reasons) in pursuit of "productivity"?

Serious injuries. Lengthy closures. Costly disruptions to lives, whānau, the transport network, our health system. This is not productive. 😞

Folks, you could’ve had Light Rail down that road but National’s local govt grouping won’t even let you have bus priority at peak times.
