6/ The human cost of South Africa's wars was catastrophic:

One study estimated over 1.5 million dead, over half of them children under five; half the populations of Mozambique & Angola displaced; and tens of billions in economic destruction that set the countries back decades.

5/ All of this was enabled by powerful Western states.

The US, UK, France, and West Germany saw Pretoria as a bulwark against the Soviets and provided political cover, strategic alignment, and the necessary resources for South Africa’s military machine to operate.

Apartheid South Africa waged endless regional wars under a “total strategy,” claiming it was fighting the Soviets while feeding off Western backing.

Israel now does the same with Iran.

But Pretoria’s militarism only brought isolation, economic strain & accelerated collapse.

I was lucky enough to go hear Arlo in concert a couple of times in late 80s, early 90s. I have good parents.
It’s been 60 yrs since Arlo Guthrie was arrested in Massaschusetts. You may have heard the story.👮🏻‍♂️

Why is Sarah Hurwitz suddenly doing so many media hits and why is every single one of them basically a caricature of the pro Israel view?

Finally, I know of at least one case where the letter writer, deep into an episode of AI-induced psychosis, asked the LLM why scientists were not responding. The machine suggested that perhaps the scientists were trying to steal his discovery.

This will get someone killed sooner or later.

My friends, that question expired years ago. (If you need receipts, my book Saving Us is literally a 300-page answer.)

The real question is: How are you PRACTICING hope?

My main point, and this is a genuine question, is I cannot understand for the life of me WHY GOOGLE WOULD DO THIS?

Because in addition to Google making money on search result ads, it also owns an estimated +50% of the global digital ad revenue market GENERALLY
