Inspired by my two recent trips to the cinema, and having some free online access, I'm going to rediscover my life as a movie lover. #FilmSky 📽

A thread of what I watch:
Good morning! I woke up with this in my brain. No complaints.

OMG. I've stumbled across an episode of Bluey and they've got the Women's Weekly chip-beaked duck cake. Iconic!

#TheDismissal falls a few years outside my lifetime but I think of it (and this!) whenever I'm on the steps of the now-museum.

Bloody hell I love it all - from preferential voting to the little pencils to the fact it's mandatory. Would recommend. #CivicDuty

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

I've just chosen to skip my fruit and veg box for this coming Friday (too busy for all that food prep right now) but added a 2kg box of cherries for 28th November. Summer has its upsides.

This perfectly encapsulates how I feel living in the US. The republican party is an insane death cult, the democratic party is 3 corporations in a trench coat, and the "socialists" are just the completely normal left-wing capitalists you'd find in any of 2 dozen European nations.
Europeans recognize Zohran Mamdani’s supposedly radical policies as ‘normal’
