This account exists to spare my friends from my D&D obsession. Lots of Warhammer too. #OSR #TTRPG #40K. Part of the #torontOSR! My blog: save.vs.totalpartykill.ca, just like my username! He/Him.

I had started to quote post Paul's review/reflection a few days ago, but then ran out of space to fit all of my thoughts down on what he had said. Lucky I have a blog! Go read both.

I conveniently blogged about this topic, before I even made my D&D blog. The absolutely bananas DCC RPG was my intro to OSR. I never played it that much, but it was the game thing that led me to everything else.

Blood in the Chocolate is one of my favourites. There is lots there to love, and what’s not to love is easy to fix and remove. But yes, probably way better things to blog about now.

Lots of cool photos and minis, but it’s a lot for a book, especially when you factor in shipping. I mostly bought it to support the two guys.

Was just coming to share AW as well. One of my favourite examples of how to teach rules. I have seen that format copied in other PbtA games, like Cartel. Mythic Bastionland does it as well in its GM section.

I haven’t played any of those games, and am now extra curious about Fury of Dracula.

Because games don’t exist in isolation we’ve introduced Sidequests, the new section of the magazine where you’ll find writing on everything from bands like Castle Rat through to fantasy inspired art exhibitions by artists like Jean Jullien…

Two books from the man himself totally_not_panicking, Matt Ross. The first is a collection of his kitbashes, mixed with a little writing. The second is a collaboration with one of my favourite Warhammer YouTubers, Trent of Miscast Minis.

My friend is visiting from the US, so I should finally receive my copy of the 28 collected. I was so happy they decided to make a printed version. The magazines are incredible. You can see a flip through below.

I bought this book that is clearly meant for 10 year olds. Each page is about some 40K character. The form factor is kind of goofy, it’s like an inch of space for a small sprue. Adding to the this is very much for children effect.

Happy Birthday to Jesse! Trophy Gold is one of my absolutely favourites. Playing it with the #TorontOSR was a blast. Felt like for a while we had a posse of people obsessed. Need to come back to it, do something with Loom!

Tomorrow is my birthday, and this last year has been a rough one. If any of the games or other art I’ve made have had a positive impact on you, hearing your stories would bring me a lot of joy 💖

All this time I thought the main inspiration must have been Debbie Harris from Blondie.
