oh btw if you guys liked Silent Hill f may I suggest Detention. It's by the same studio that made Devotion. It takes place during White Terror in Taiwan and has some really great horror elements from Taiwanese mythology.

Its funny looking back at all the mechs in Zeta and realize they're basically mostly all building off the Gelgoog design also.

On the one hand fair enough Gelgoog's one of the coolest but my goodness that's a lot of them

What I especially also liked in 79 is how there is a clear, linear progression of technology. Every new suit feels like a clear escalation trying to outgun, & gives all the goofy gimmickier toys a lot of grounding, so by the time everyone started using beam weaponry it felt like the culmination.

I've forgotten like half the mobile suits that were actually in Zeta by the end of it and I'm still not sure if the wiki is fucking with me hahaha

i love that they've never remade gundam '79. i remember people hoping for it after space battleship yamato 2199 and the origin OVAs but it's still never happened. it feels like they're saying "trust us, it's good"
