I haven't been online much but I have been busy creating new photos, including some from winter in Rocky Mountain National Park. You can find an essay about the trip and many more photos here: smallscenes.com/blog/winter-...
Thanks so much for the support and re-share, @gdanmitchell.com. I appreciate both!
I saw this photo, and went back to it a few times, as I was looking at TJ's website yesterday. It is among my favorites from his collection, partly because I have wandered the desert where he took this for many days and have never seen anything quite like it myself.
Fractures.
Thank you for letting me know that you enjoyed these photos, Chris. I appreciate the feedback!
Thanks so much, Christoph!
Ha! Thank you, Alex. It is funny what we nature photographers get excited about. Twigs and snow.
One of my favorites from Brent's new collection of photos. You can see all of the photos here (absolutely worth your time!). brentgoesoutsi.de/2024-southwe...

New photos and writing coming soon - subscribe to my newsletter to see!

It's a collection of photos I made while backpacking in some canyons with Eric Bennett. We ended up having quite an adventure. I wrote a journal about it, in case you're curious about our gnarly adventures.
Thanks so much for sharing this, Brent!
3 days left to order! I’m partnering w/ 9 colleagues on a fundraiser to support public lands staff who have been suddenly affected by federal cuts. We are offering a box set of ten prints with 100% of the proceeds directly supporting affected staff. Learn more: www.bennettfilm.com/Print-Collec...

Nearly 100% of the time. I can’t get a precise, refined composition with handholding and I’d prefer to get one correct photo than have to sort through a dozen+ to see which one is best.
Such a great water abstract from Hans. 🤯
Brent says below that this might be his favorite photo he has made. It is also my favorite from his portfolio. I just love the mix of plants and trees, along with the soft light and graceful composition.
"Thanksgiving"
Colorado Plateau, 2019

If you forced me to select my favorite photo I've ever made, this would be the first one to come to mind. I titled it Thanksgiving because of its color palette, but also because so many great things were happening in my life that I was immensely grateful for.
This is my husband. He likes photographing rocks.👇
A beautiful story and a lovely collection of photos!
Good to see you on this platform, Antonio!
This is lovely, Hans. The quiet simplicity is perfect.
Such lovely little green stars!
We were able to see geese take off like this last month. It was so incredible! This is wonderful as an abstract/pattern, Kevin.
Hi Kevin - Thank you for the very kind comment! It is nice to know that my photos are appreciated. 🥰
Thanks! Really cold weather, some plates of glass, and various mixtures of water plus other things. I discuss the camera technique in my blog post.
I like them both! The light is so different that they are hard to compare. I'd consider them both lovely interpretations with a totally different visual effect.
