Hey fellow music makers (especially music producers who work with virtual drum kits a lot):

I own an Akai LPD8 mk2, and it's great, but I feel like 8 pads is not enough. Can anyone recommend a good 16+ pad MIDI controller? I'm considering the Akai MPD218, PreSonus Atom, & Novation Launchpad X. Tnx!

Synthwave has a lot of sub-genres, but retrowave is the one that speaks to my soul, so that'll be my focus. Why the alias? Mostly because it's a big departure from what I usually do, and it keeps things clean algorithmically.

I'm excited to see where this goes!

Side note: it's interesting that so many of the huge 80s bands with hits in the US were English. As a kid growing up in the 80s, I didn't even realize it. I just liked a song, I taped it off the radio and listened to it to death. 😄 I should look at the 80s billboard charts from the US/UK and compare
