Another Wyndham & Banerjee is out soon I think

Really enjoyed this one, it was odd stepping away from the East India Company with him but the characters established so fast it was great to read

Thanks I have enjoyed the last 2 and this one seems very much in the Bob style so sure I’ll enjoy

Thanks for reminding me of this - the sequel is out I see so I can line that up

Just finishing “Venetian Vespers” by John Banville - thoroughly enjoyed even though the narrator is thoroughly unlikeable (deliberately). Next Bob Mortimer and “The Long Shoe” which I’m expecting to be filled with likeable characters
Pale green cover with a grey security camera on the left and a blue tower clock with a single lighted floor. “Bob Mortimer”
In black text, “The long shoe” in white

That’s an amazing cover - if I was in a book shop I’d pick it up…

Good morning - moving forward a millennia or so this week with “Venetian Vespers” by John Banville. Lots of indignant / unaware Englishness so far and turn of the century atmosphere
Painting of Venice at night, gondoliers in the foreground and towers and waterfront buildings in the background

I really enjoyed “One battle after another”, mainly because in my head I was reliving the 80’s and watching The A-Team
Picture of Colonel Decker from 80’s show the a-team

I’ll check it out thanks

House of leaves is one of those you have to read it once books for me - but a great journey
sagray.bsky.social
I’ve enjoyed his other books so hope you have a good read. Seems very prolific

That’s a great title

I’m enjoying it - not sure what I’d compare it to maybe Bernard Cromwell - last kingdom books. 1/3 through and would say worth a read but haven’t checked if there is a sequel

Morning - just started “Sword of the war god” by Tim Hodkinson - it has started with battles and intrigue - so far so good
Ornate golden sword on a red cover with interlocking pattern design. “Sword of the war god” in white text and the authors name.

The Long Walk was surprisingly good, I didn’t get used to them falling and it cuts right at just the right moment.

Recommend “Clown Town” by Mick Herron - doesn’t disappoint. Now on to “Deadwood” by Peter Cozzens which is very readable and if you ever watched the show you can’t help but hear their voices in your head. Long live Al Swearengen…

I appear to be just visiting train stations today (I’m not even here to catch a train)
