they’re also having to pull agents from other agencies and taskings - which is pissing people off real bad. retention even outside these positions is bad. they *are* losing. shaming and harassing these people works.

no one wants to do this job. DHS is offering $50k signing bonuses, cutting both educational and fitness standards - even waiving those requirements entirely in some cases - and they still can’t staff. these people are comically incompetent and it shows.

there’s nothing new about it - if anything, it is a decline of modern policing - which is to say a decline of efficacy. it’s supposed to look scary, but only if you don’t scratch the surface. this represents the desperate veneer of power.

If you have it please donate cash to the food banks. $10 in their hands will feed more people than the $10 worth of canned goods you can buy for retail prices. Also check on your elders. Many of them will not admit they rely on these programs so grocery gift cards or a surprise bag of staples
