Lately iv had friends over for small dinner parties on a weekday. A easy simple meal, enjoyed with community. Iv had them three weeks in a row and all three times its been pure conversation with folks forgetting their phone exist. New tradition I’m keeping for the new year.

While I’m glad Commissioner Tisch let Ricky Patel (Special Agent in Charge at HSI) know that she’s not happy with their raids, I’m disturbed by footage of NYPD officers clearing the way for ICE vehicles. It’s a violation of our sanctuary city law to facilitate deportations.

Confirmed: Earlier this morning a photog overheard agents inside the parking garage say “dismissed,” believed to be calling off their planned mass raid.
A source tells me they had planned for *hundreds* of agents to flood Canal St. They got flooded instead.

Federal immigration enforcement officials called off a planned raid on Canal Street today shortly before it was slated to begin.
New Yorkers who heard about the raid showed up at the garage where the feds had gathered, and as federal agents tried to leave, the NYPD cleared the way for them.
