After executing Alex Pretti on Saturday, ICE has shifted to primarily targeting bus stops and elementary schools in my community this week. I cannot overstate how much of the ICE activity in my community is just targeting places where little kids are.
Video from this morning shows ICE agents deploying tear gas outside a Minneapolis preschool as parents shout, “This is a preschool! There’s kids here!”

Extremely niche post: DMB booking a date at the new amphitheater in Shakopee likely bodes well for those of us hoping for an outdoor Phish show this summer. They share the same management.

Mystic Lake Amphitheater will host DMB's first outdoor Minnesota gig in 14 years on June 23 along with a Ne-Yo and Akon co-headlining date Aug. 5.

Real Minnesotans wouldn't even mention giving a jump to others to give themselves credit for doing a good deed.
Real Minnesotans who helped jump a car would demand that you not give them credit for this kind of basic decency.
ICE is so pathetically desperate for some good PR that they’re tweeting about helping someone jump a car in the cold weather

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that we get rid of Miller. His race war fantasies have informed the vision behind the federal assaults on US cities, as I discussed here.
My latest: How Renee Good's murder and paramilitary assaults on US cities reflect longstanding right-wing race war fantasies and Stephen Miller's fixation with a novel about white genocide. I also talk about the stories we tell and live in opposition to these narratives and share a must-reads list.

Rather than being disbanded or intimidated by Good’s murder, the people of Minneapolis have been galvanized, escalating their resistance and refusing to retreat from the work of protecting one another...

Non-union shipping contractors are soaking up the package volume in this country. Low wage, no benefit jobs that are dangerous and unstable. Increasingly these workers are being surveilled on the job to a degree that would make an infant blush.
UPS has announced that it will eliminate 30,000 jobs this year.

The cuts come on the back of 48,000 jobs eliminated in 2025.

Shares of the company rose this morning.
