A classic case of 'if you build it they will come'. More safe #cycle lanes is driving growth in cycling. But there's still a way to go to make London's roads safe. So let's have some more safe routes please @london.gov.uk

Brilliant stuff from @olifro.st Humour is a really powerful tool for drawing attention to serious messages. Hope SocGen is shamed into a rethink.
We went to Paris to launch a fake brand campaign for the bank Société Générale.

Société Générale said they’d stop funding coal.

But instead underwrote a $409 million a bond to the world’s largest private coal company (through one of their subsidiaries).

No way expansion of #Heathrow can meet Labour's "key tests .... on the environment", especially as it's "already the single largest polluter in the UK". @thecccuk.bsky.social & @commonseac.parliament.uk say a 3rd runway "risks torpedoing the UK's climate goals."

So true. Another missed opportunity.
A huge and glaring omission. It's clear the Chancellor protects aviation's profits instead of making polluters pay. We urgently need a frequent flyer levy and fuel tax to fix this broken system. #MakePollutersPay #FlightFreeFuture
MISSING: Closing tax loopholes for private jets, taxing airplane fuel, a frequent flyer levy.

Why does the Chancellor have such a blind spot for anything that might tackle the excesses of the aviation industry? #Budget

Mixed news for environmentalists in today's UK #Budget, but on balance "“Today’s announcements fall far short of what’s needed”. sustainabilitymag.com/news/the-sus... It appears that the government still doesn't understand that #ClimateChange is likely to severely damage long term economic growth.

This is worryingly Trump-esque! An independent judiciary is essential for a healthy #democratic society.
The judge due to rule on the proscription of Palestine Action is swapped last minute for a panel that includes a judge with a history of working for the government and another who ruled in favour UK selling jets to Israel.

Accusations of a “stitch-up”.

Interesting piece on #HammersmithBridge. Another great example of traffic evaporation.
“When the bridge closed, about 25,000 vehicles crossed it daily… Six years later, 9,000 of those journeys have vanished - not diverted to other crossings, but simply evaporated. Yet the local economy has adapted, air quality has improved, and overall traffic congestion has lessened.”
I really cannot recommend this excellent piece on Hammersmith Bridge highly enough
