After years of knowing I should, I finally sat down and watched Tokyo Godfathers.

I will *happily* read everything that comes out of this, and every version of Archie has been interested in one way or another, but man, it really reads like Archie Comics is basically throwing in the towel here.

if the name and people involved don't do it for you, please know the trailer says the following and be convinced:

IT'S A HERDER MYSTERY
Very pleased and honored to have served as Executive Producer and Animation Producer for this sweet, unique film. It's terribly sincere, funny and heartwarming and feels just like the movies I loved as a kid. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyZI...

concept art is one of the gateway softballs generative ai is constantly referenced as being useful for and i cannot for the life of me imagine a *worse* one

what do you mean you want to outsource a major creative seed of your art? that's not exploring what could be, that's boxing yourself in

the trick to drinking more water is to think deeply about the act in progress such that you realize how goddamn refreshing it is but not the individual muscles in motion so as not to unintentionally start drowning yourself with a cup

Looks like @dkbailey64.bsky.social's interview with Keita Takahashi has been making the rounds before I could even share it!

Full thing definitely worth a read.
Keita Takahashi said 'To a T' didn't sell well enough. He moved back to Japan with his family, unsure if he will stay in the industry.
