We have the same effect size. Yet, yours is small. Mine is large. We are not the same.
Effect sizes need context, which is why using only effect sizes without providing the necessary context is dumb. An effect size of 0.1 between personality traits is worth jackshit, but when it comes to saving lives, the scale and the meaning transforms.

But I think a deeper issue is that by the time you’ve chosen an SESOI and a model, you’ve done more subjective decision making than a Bayesian on a bad day and you could just as well put a regularizing prior.

They should do a SAT for US presidents but just with basic shit like "On day 1, an apple costs 1 dollar. The following day the price goes up 100%. On day 3, the price drops 50% and then stays stable until day 5. How much is the apple on day 4?".

This is not intended to bash Peter, but fuck LinkedIn and burn it to the ground. This platform has actively enshittified work culture and is a hotbed of performative posting. I do not want another big tech firm (Microsoft) defining academic performance metrics. It's bad enough we have h-index.
@altmetric.com - I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think you need to start capturing LinkedIn shares for academic publications. That's rapidly becoming the most active platform in my experience.
