Is it just a random chance #coincidence that our Sun & Moon have the same apparent size, or that when our Moon totally eclipses our Sun as a result of this alleged "coincidence" the #TotalSolarEclipse looks like the pupil & iris of an "eye of God"?

Gender-based violence is an everyday reality, and it starts with minimizing misogyny
As we highlight 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence and the upcoming anniversary of the Montreal massacre, can we take a moment to reflect on all the different forms this violence takes?

Dec. 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

14 lights will be lit on Mount Royal today at 5:10 p.m., the time the attack began in 1989. As each light is lit, the names of the 14 women will be read aloud.

The memory of the mass femicide at Polytechnique is still painful.

Today marks the 36th anniversary of the Montreal massacre, where 14 women — students at Université de Montréal’s École Polytechnique — lost their lives in a mass shooting motivated by misogyny.

Today, we lost a giant of American architecture with the passing of Frank Gehry, whose iconic designs personified the creativity and dynamism of Los Angeles and California.

May his memory be a blessing, and may his family, friends, and all he inspired take comfort in the lasting legacy of his work.

Still unsure how to respond to the violent taking of lives by bombing ships in the Caribbean: it's not the illegality, it's turning the taking of a life into a joke, it's the basest dehumanization.
