Also, from 18 years of experience with comics and readers, teens read up, and adults read down. The borders of the marketing categories are permeable!

Librarians, Hello Sunshine just got a much deserved Outstanding Comics Award for Young Adults honor from ALA/GNCRT. If we want more comics we know teens’ll love: get it on every library shelf. With our support, we’ll get sequels, & creators like @keezyyoung.bsky.social can keep making amazing work.
Hello Sunshine is a horror mystery GN about a boy who comes back from bible camp to find out that his secret boyfriend, Alex, is missing after a very public mental breakdown. #comics

Has there been a Lancet study on whether everything written by or for women will eventually be called YA?
SCREAMING at these headlines calling Heated Rivalry a YA series.
📢 Adapted from the hugely popular YA book series, Heated Rivalry balances in-you-face sex scenes with a tale of sweet romance.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

This is also the scene that I want to show to anyone and everyone about why this show is so magnificent.
since this thread is getting traction again, let me rec you the Canadian comedy miniseries Slings & Arrows, which centers on a shakespearean theatre company exploring the makings of putting on a show. 3 seasons, 6 eps each.

scene that sold me to watch it ages ago:
