Please and thanks 🙏🏽
The movie “Conclave” is about to go nuts on streaming right? The timing is so perfect it’s spooky.

I’ve used Cursor as my editor for two weeks and wow! I’m not exaggerating when I say that this has changed my productivity so powerfully I don’t think I can ever look back.

Vibe programming, Chat oriented programming, whatever you call it is obviously how all coding will be done in the future.

An attempt to increase the birth rate that doesn’t seek to address factors like the cost of living, housing and education is bound to fail in the long term.

Those are powerful and long enduring disincentives.
Trump Aides Solicit Ideas to Raise Birthrate, From Baby Bonuses to Fertility Planning
The White House is soliciting policy proposals designed to give women incentives to have more children, a priority for many social conservatives.

These problems are closely correlated though. Male isolation and disconnection is upstream of males coping with by developing the grandiose victim mentality of the incel.
One thing I find annoying about when people talk about “the male loneliness epidemic” is that half the time, they’re actually talking about the “entitled incel epidemic” which is an entirely different problem.

My new keyboard sounds sooo nice, I don’t even want to listen to music while I work. I think actually think it makes me get more done. Never knew it could be like this.

Hey @theverge.com it’s a pretty bad look paywalling this don’t ya think?

Spotify needs to have a block feature for artists. I need no Kanye in my mixes ever.

With the new money from congestion pricing it'd be great to see some greater investment in BIKE infrastructure like this amazing proposal the RPA put out in 2020
The Five Borough Bikeway
We need an evolution in how we manage and use city streets. We need to develop a network of priority, high-capacity, protected bike lanes that serve as the heart of a comprehensive and cohesive bicycl...

It’s messed up that I don’t want to own a SUV or pickup as my primary vehicle, but when I’m surrounded by them on the road in a full sized sedan I feel unsafe and compelled to get a truck just to match their size in the case I actually get into an accident with one.

Just learned that the Bourbon Street attack was done with a pickup truck, which makes twisted sense when you think about how unnecessarily bigger heavier and deadlier those vehicles have gotten in the past 30 years.

It’s absurd.

After going down a rabbit hole of what to do with my Raspberry Pi’s and I’ve decided I want to build a Home Lab.

How’d I get here? Well I want to run a bunch of self-hosted apps and learn in a small-scale way the same concepts and skills used to run production apps in real data-centers.

I’m giving away this Raspberry Pi 3 w/ 4GB RAM, and the case it’s in.

Anyone interested?

“Get another one” was the answer. 🤦🏽‍♂️

I really want the NVMe storage option on the latest one for server performance.
What should I do with my embarrassingly large hoard of raspberry pi’s now?

@chrismcleod.dev 👋🏽 hi, I just read your article on building a raspberry pi dev server. I’m interested in doing the same, how’s it been working out for you?

I spent the weekend figuring out how to move a bunch of self-hosted apps on Raspberry Pi’s to running in containers on my home server. Worked out great!

Wish I would have done this sooner, learning a lot about containers along the way.

This tired and busted take again… 🙄

If this place stays left leaning, so be it. People don’t want to hang out in the same spaces as their trolls and haters. They can have their freedom of speech, and we can have our freedom of association to leave spaces that are hostile to us.
Opinion - The problem with Bluesky: It won’t broaden our horizons: In the wake of Donald Trump’s election win, the social-media platform has enjoyed a surge of new users looking for an alternative to Elon Musk’s X. But will it be useful, if it just creates an echo chamber for the left?

Of course, the trolls, bigots, and spammers will come if this Bluesky is successful.
That's why l'm happy moderation lists are a thing here.

I'd like to see an algorithmic, continuously updated master block list that crawls the platform for hateful, bad-faith users that we can all subscribe to.

It’s the paradox of tolerance Mark, Twitter became a cesspool because it tolerated the trolls and bigots until they dominated the platform. That’s the worst that could happen. Why risk that? To say we’re tolerant?

Whatever can be done to minimize and marginalize bad-faith users, great. Let’s do it.

So I used ChatGPT to help me solve a code problem, it was a novel problem to me and it helped me get 50% there really fast, but it was just wrong enough in it's suggestions to have me banging my head against a wall for hours and I'm not sure this was any faster than figuring it out on my own
