Speaking just for myself here, if expense were not a factor – like if I just struck the lottery – my wife and I would go have like 3 kids right away.

It’d be nigh impossible now to take the life choices women have away from them (nor should we even want to!). The only other lever to pull then is the affordability factor.

Another factor that ranks super high was the paucity of choices women had on how they would lead their lives. When supporting themselves with a career was out of the reach of most women many opted into motherhood earlier.

If you look at post-war baby boom you see a society that in many ways (good and bad) made it natural and easy to start families younger, the most glaring of which is just how much more affordable a decent middle class existence was.

You couldn’t find another word than Trump?

Trans-women competing against cis-women is a cultural issue. Not medical. And it’s a losing issue for the party that decides to die on that hill because most Americans do not want that.

I wish we lived in a more emphatic world, but it is what it is.

They did that because attaching Democrats to unpopular policies like trans-women competing against cis-women is wildly unpopular and it helps them win elections.

Democrats losing elections just hurts trans people more, they care a little at least. Republican’s DGAF.

Politicians run the gov’t not doctors and politicians have to take a position on issues.

Get your advice from wherever you want but you are going to get policy from gov’t officials regardless.

I think their story is that Apple Intelligence is or will have unique functionality because of the integration it has within the ecosystem and the amount of context it has from the Apple ecosystem.

That said I hope they make a proper app with a chat interface for Siri on top of OS-wide features.

Time will tell if this ends congestion. My specific situation necessitates driving in the city, so I won’t be there any less.

I don’t like it. I get the arguments for it but it still hits my wallet. Also the MTA is not a very effective organization.

I’d like to know exactly what improvements this is buying because all I’ve heard so far has been vague and hand wavy. Not convincing.

These things are already killing us; traffic accidents involving massive trucks are deadlier, especially when matched against a sedan.

This attack just highlights how easy these things are to turn into weapons deadly enough to rival an AR15.

This is the plan for now. I might change my mind though. Part of me wants to forgo the Pi’s and run a beefier dev server and forgo the “learning about cluster computing” thing.

And another part of me wants to build a beefier dev server from an old MOBO, but it’s full ATX and I want something small.
