I'm broadly in favour of furthering the body of human knowledge but wish that as a public we could sometimes exercise a veto, like "maybe right now isn't the time to wake up Shelob guys"

Zohran Mamdani caught lying that he understood Plato’s allegory of the cave, yet when asked to explain it, he seemed to instead explain Baudrillard’s theory of Simulacra and Simulation where reality has been replaced by symbols and signs, which seems similar to Plato’s theory but is not the same

The neoliberal attitude that treats some crime as irredeemable mortal sin and other crime as cunning business sense would be hard to reconcile if you don't grasp that to them when capital does it it's not illegal.
