I'd be tempted to deface that with a single letter "A" right above "LION".

Looking it up, the existing cucumber is depicted as a pickle on a lot of platforms, so this'll be good for disambiguation the same way the meteor is.
I'm not going to judge the tastes or hygiene of anyone using "pickle" as their go-to phallic emoji, though.
If your reaction is "isn't there already a flaming meteor emoji" - yes, but some platforms display that more like a sparkly comet, so they're introducing one specifically for that and leaving the other to specifically be "comet".
New emoji recommendations are now official! These all seem like pretty good ones (although I wish they'd just make left and right variants of all of the hands and not just a few).
Almost the whole Bitkin story revolves around Patch, who has always been enby (and accepts just about any pronoun as long as it's unambiguous).

In fact I’m officially proposing the Simpson Test.

Does a work include a trans, nonbinary, or otherwise non-cisgender character, whose storyline is about them, and not about cis people’s journey in learning to accept them?

Bonus points if their storyline is not about being trans.
I suggest we call it the Simpson Test.
It's just halfway through period three
But I know that we both agree
We'd rather be outside and free
Than stuck here learning history
So let's go truant, you and me
There's so much more out there to see
Another experiment in a sketchier looser style - Vidrio, one of my oldest characters. He's a tiger-patterned humanoid gryphon, adoptive brother to Vesta, and tends to stumble accidentally into adventure. I think this style is getting somewhere.
I fall for this every time.
It's a trick a lot of high-functioning people pull on themselves, too. Anything they can accomplish is the bare minimum which means they never deserve to be proud of anything.

I do not claim to know why we are on this planet, but I am very certain we are not born to start a mission where we optimize every single little thing in our lives.

I think it's just not good for the spirit.
The days grow shorter on the clock
But just for half this spinning rock
It's quite a long long way to walk
So why not come and join the flock?
They planned ahead how they'd equip
And started on this island tip;
The bottle's to preserve the ship
Until they need it for their trip
Ambersand can’t exist without a custom music engine. It’s too important to be able to sync things to a rhythm. Having stuff go in time with the music is one of my favorite video game tropes of all time; I can’t just leave it out.
Had a forehead-slap moment thinking about how to write a music engine. Producing sound at a 44kHz sample rate doesn’t mean you have to update all your logic (like note on/off events) that fast. 60 fps should be fine. Well within the reaction time of a live musician.
I’ll never set the world aflame
I’m just one person; that’s no shame
There’s only one thing I can do:
To my own self, I must be true
"I know that bunnies can't climb trees,
But you could make your way on these…?"
The bunny thought, and said "Don't tease.
I'd need something more sturdy, please."

It's been 20 years since these Tomonobu Itagaki pictures were published in the German magazine Maniac (hi @tapirfortuna.bsky.social), and since everyone is doing their Itagaki memoriams and tributes I'll make the photos public for everyone to use.

I made a map of La-Mulana!

I've tried to hand-draw every nook and cranny of the ruins. There are still a couple things to touch up, and I'm sure I made some mistakes; let me know if you notice any. 💕

"Music-synced animation engine" keeps coming around to me as a needed part of my projects. Conceptually I know exactly how it would work, but every time I try to make it real, there's some issue blocking me.
I think Google Maps is having some issues recognizing roads that aren't perfectly grid-aligned.
At sunset near the island's shore
A bunny, trying to explore
Desired a place to rest and snore
"Of course; that's what this nest is for."
