Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Had the absolute pleasure to see Black Country, New Road tonight in a sold out Paradiso, Amsterdam. Especially appreciated the moment they took halfway to reflect on the fact that they've sold out the most iconic and important venue in Amsterdam two nights in a row. "It's definitely not lost on us."

Tldr your computer's memory runs at half its speed by default because it's more stable and safe. To increase the speed to get more performance in video games you can unlock it in a menu called BIOS.

Also fyi, any kind of windows crash can reset your bios as well. It will try to boot in a more stable mode and will disable settings like xmp. Good practice to check your bios settings every time you get a bsod or other type of crash.

It's... complete. After more than a decade of following this series, I finally have the final volume. What a journey it's been. It's crazy to look back and remember what a different person I was when I started reading it. Thank you Vinland Saga, forever. 🌾

I'm back from my US trip. Was a really great three weeks. Had the chance to meet up for the first time with my best friend that I met online years ago, which was amazing. She gave me my Kagurabachi mug that I asked her to buy for me from the M+ store, so that's being used immediately!
