I got a film degree because I wanted to be a Cool, Creative Person, and I thought that if I played by the rules that I could find my place in the ecosystem and get to do something I loved. I didn't know that the people who get to do it that way are people already in the system, who already had a place at the table reserved for them. I didn't know that if I wasn't already vouched for, I was on the outs. It would mean dashing myself against the shores of indifference to hope that someone would take a chance on me, and that I'd be doing it without any safety net or fallback plan. A year later, in 2008, the world took everyone out of their boxes and dumped everyone back in a pile, and left them to sort it out on their own.

victor literally had a dream last night that told him the names/created purposes of our blanksword angelsonas and kudos to his subconscious because these are really good

The Angel of Corrections (victor) and the Angel of Record (me). Corrections is tall and nervous-looking, with horns like a rabbit's ears that have bioluminescent firefly organs on the underside. Record is short and chubby, with three horns like a chameleon's (two on the brow and one on the nose), their face, hands, and apron smeared with drips of various colors of paint. Text reads, "The Angel of Corrections: can magically discern truth from falsehood, not often allowed to speak the truth" + "The Angel of Record: eidetic memory, born to screenprint funky band tees, forced to make propaganda posters."
