2/ When satellite communications began, companies set up sat receiving stations. And a few miles away US govt set up receiving stations. Here is one, since decommissioned.

The Kid has befriended a semi-feral black cat who has taken to hanging around the house. In fact, just walked by the porch.

The mentality for many of these schools (including WVU) are that they are semi-pro football teams with schools attached. Is revenue generated = the expenses once added up? But you are right. If they have that kind of money to toss at fired coaches, they have it to support their supposed core mission

Something I do every once and a while. Line a ramakin or small glass bowl with parchment paper. Bigger than a muffin tin muffin so works well.

The molasses really gives it flavor. Add some extra raisins and nuts and you are set.

During the last coal downturn I was looking at what the operators were telling bankruptcy judges, insurance companies and Wall St., not what the bosses were telling shift miners.
Blame the Democrats at the mine face.
Blame the Great God Market in the courtroom/board room.

With a current value of $0.001 per ton, it does not look like coal will be making a comeback in the United States. That's the outcome from a recent coal lease bid for *subsidized* coal. They lowered the royalty rate (& cut environmental regulations) to encourage the sale. 🧪🔌💡☀️💨💧🔋 A short 🧵

This is the problem with His/Her turnism. Being involved with Democratic institutional apparatus for decades doesn't make one an effective electoral leader, no matter the $ and Super delegates one has lined up.

To repair the damage of Trumpism, will need the largest mandate possible, including "regular" Americans who wouldn't normally vote Democratic.

This has been the mistake of "his/her turn" political strategy.
Many (including consultants and institutional activists) fall into this trap.

Newsom has the words but the bearing of a Hollywood agent trying to angle his client into the next blockbuster.
The tan alone would turn off 1/2 the country.

Was in the Va mts today and ran into an "Americana" festival.
One band was playing in local park. Pretty good until they stared playing a Dead jam. Went down the street and found a 3 piece playing Aretha, Cash & Lucinda Williams. Pretty good.

American universities have four mutually conflicting missions:

1. Profitable sports franchise
2. In loco parentis babysitter for horny teens
3. Pre-professional workforce training
4. Oh, yeah, almost forgot, teaching people the things civilization has learned for the last 400 years.
