I love this article with all of my heart.

If only the writer had known about the Bears STH who lives literal steps from Lindala Lane...

My bedroom window is not completely locked, therefore wind can howl in.

I could fix it but it probably requires loud noises and light, and my wife is asleep.

Pray for me.

Another chance to hype my intensive character study "Deeper Impact".
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

For years, my family's go-to side dish on Thanksgiving was not cranberry sauce, but the family jello: Black cherry, with halved cherries, sliced green olives, and (depending on allergies) chopped walnuts, served on a slice of lettuce.
yes, hello, I would like to place an order for everyone’s funniest stories of holiday food-related family grudges / drama / chaotic incidents / lore

I feel like we need this

2026 ZiPS Projections: Chicago White Sox
The White Sox have improved to the point of just being an ordinarily terrible team.

Sports on the radio may have been on the way out until it took 46 different subscriptions to watch games.

I have a bigger audience for UNH football on radio because FloSports is expensive and low quality
when i was a kid WPIX (free) aired 55 Yankees games a season, WCBS (free) aired two Yankees games a season, ESPN (not free, but basic cable) aired ten Yankees games a season, and MSG Network (your mileage may vary) aired 95 games a season. hell 20 years ago 40% of D-Rays games were on free TV!
You will need YES, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, ESPN, Netflix, NBC/Peacock, FOX, and TBS to watch the Yankees next season.

This is wild. They blitzed *two-thirds of the time*. I know that's Flores' thing, but wow.
Bears QB Caleb Williams had season-low marks in completion % (50.0) and first downs (6). EPA/dropback (-0.07), rating (68.9) and YPA (6.0) were second-lowest of the season. The Vikings also threw a ton at him, blitzing 66.7% of the time, per @trumedia.bsky.social, and he did not turn it over.

Driving to the Montrose Bird Sanctuary and then to Honey Bear Cafe in Rogers Park this morning, something jarring was seeing no soccer games happening. Usually, on Sundays, every park was filled with games played by Latino men in their 20s and 30s. They would go until there was snow on the ground.

This reminds me: back in 2008, I somehow got NFL Head Coach 09 for PS3 from our local WalMart for 5 bucks. Brand new game. Maybe they messed up the tag? They had a stack of them.

FUN FACT- one of the QBs in the initial draft class was a stand-in for Josh Johnson, *who is still in the league today*.

Peacock Morning TV update:

The "Miele" morons have overtaken "Dinge" as the worst commercial on the air. It was close, but they did it.

Follow-up: It was great to see the unfurling Peacock fanfare come back in an updated style last night.

That was always the part that really got me excited for the game in the 90s. It was like the breaking news sounder, the "Oh Shit, here we go" of sports.
Ok we're all reliving the glorious John Tesh "Roundball Rock" theme today (and the glorious Red Rocks performance, and the glorious SNL sketch).

But does anyone know the history of the 'fanfare' that preceded it? The music under the unfurling Peacock? Like here:

I've felt for 20 years that we would never again see a pitching performance like the White Sox in the '05 ALCS, with 4 straight complete games.

But the Dodgets allowing *3 runs* in an entire series...I mean, wow.
