Here is a starter pack I put together featuring all the psychedelic science researchers and journalists I could find on here. Let me know who I'm missing. It'd be great to get the conversation going on this platform go.bsky.app/NPvFX41

Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

I'm not here to take sides in the Paramount vs Netflix war for Warner Bros but I will remind you of this moment from one of the best TV shows of the year.

We're in the dumbest timeline people.

Hey kids, go and read a book, says old guy.

Yeah, kids really respond to this kind of dialogue don't they.

I think this school holidays is gonna be about learning how to use VPNs and finding weird corners of the internet to inhabit.

Happy social media ban day Australia!

I look forward to a new era where anxiety and depression has finally lifted from all children and everything is happy and good again.

Nobody with a brain thought that remote learning would have no negative consequences. We all knew it would. The question was: would the negative consequences of remote learning be worse than the consequences of keeping schools open.
It baffles me that people apparently don't understand this.
I am waiting for someone to write the social history of the pandemic. Remember when people demonized Emily Oster and Leana Wen for suggesting kids should be in school? Finally, we have rigorous evidence they were right (as parents of teens already knew)

Just did the face age scanning thing for Bluesky. Usually I'd be a "fuck off" with this kind of stuff but I was curious how it worked.

Took three tries for it to recognise my face as real. Then it accepted and bounced me back here.

Eight years ago David Lynch reinvented serialised TV with Twin Peaks: The Return.

At the time everyone thought it would inspire a generation of new creatives but no one really took the baton until now.

And we never saw it coming from this guy.

If you ever wanted to understand the conceptual differences between plot and story just watch the first few episodes of the final season of Stranger Things.

It's ALL plot. No story.

Literally 4 hours of characters planning to do things, executing the plan, and then planning another thing.

Hinging a key final season plot twist on a character, previously seen just once, in an episode universally lauded as the series' worst, eight years ago, is certainly a bold creative choice.

This may be inside baseball for most people but it's easily one of the most extraordinary entertainment business deals I've seen in my lifetime.

If this goes through Netflix become monopoly king. They will own HBO and Warner catalogues. The Max brand disappears. It's massive.

Netflix has emerged victorious with what appears to be the highest bid for Warner Bros. Discovery and the two sides are set to start exclusive talks.

So ABC news republished this piece from The Conversation but decided to add one extra word to the headline.

Why the equivocation? What editorial meeting ended up with the suggestion there is some weird edge case where it's OK for therapists to have relationships with clients?

This was the crew pass for the recent Entheogenesis Australis event. And I'll cut you off before you ask, no, they were not "active". Many checked to make sure. 😂

What? Really? Why am I only hearing about this now?

Literally five days out from implementation and you're finally raising one of the fundamental reasons why this is an impotent and potentially dangerous legislation. Well done...

Pics were minimal at Entheogenesis Australis but here are a few that have emerged. Thanks to Alex Gearin for snapping the ephemeral "fireside" chat I did with Martin Williams. Also, Anna Conrick introducing @tehseennoorani.bsky.social and some guy playing some music somewhere sometime 😉

What did I just say about not knowing what is real and what is satire anymore?

No more psychedelic renaissance stories people. The renaissance is officially dead. RIP. We're now in whatever comes after.

I genuinely don't know what's real or satire anymore...

If I were to make a parody post this is EXACTLY how I would detail it...

In the middle of a wild wkend at Entheogenesis Australis' Garden States. Missing way too much but what I have caught has been deeply engaging.

Below daytime is Dave Nickles dropping bombs on the local community and night time is @mikejay.bsky.social going deep on mescaline art.

Finally watched WEAPONS and loved it while I was watching it. What a ride!

Kinda dissipated into nothingness the second it finished though. The structure is clever, and engaging, but it comes at the cost of pretty much everything.

It's a great show-reel for Cregger as a filmmaker.

This is an interesting case.

It raises an issue about liability. If these kinds of treatments do have the capacity for healing that their advocates claim then it is reasonable to suggest a greater duty of care in contexts such as this.

I mean, either the body keeps the score or it doesn't...
