My grandpa was 100% neurodivergent.
My uncle was treated for ADHD in the 60s & 70s
I can almost guarantee that my mom, at least one of my aunts, and another uncle are either ADHD, Autistic or both.
The family tree is strong over here. So I’m not shocked at all.

It's harder to freak me out about ADHD and autism as brand-new 21st century plagues when my siblings and I all had one or the other back in the 90s, and my parents are certain they did too and only weren't diagnosed because it was the 60s
I don't think I've ever disagreed and agreed more strongly with a piece, seesawing from one paragraph to the next.

My child’s school went into a genuine lockdown for almost 2 hours with police presence earlier this year. Thankfully it wasn’t active but there was a credible threat.
My child had panic attacks at night for weeks and now needs multiple nightlights again.

Watching “Thoughts and Prayers,” an HBO Max documentary about the school shooting preparedness industry, and I can’t help feeling like forcing children to do drills reenacting shootings is fucking child abuse.
