Cooked all day at the church, didn't want to cook dinner. Cooked dinner anyway. Really glad I made dinner.

Tried to watch Pride and Prejudice 2005 last night and couldn't finish it. Turns out I really don't like that movie at all.

Elizabeth and Darcy are written as the absolute worst versions of their characters.

I don't know if I love it or hate it that these have actual Toledo references in them.

12 years ago we went to Disney World for our honeymoon, got very drunk at Downtown Disney, and listened to an unhappy married couple argue about one of them wanting to run for the PTA as their child fell down and started crying.

That was neat.

My church's hot meal program gets a lot of food from national grocery chains.

What's amazing is that none of it is a result of corporate generosity, it's entirely the result of local employees who hate food waste and love their communities.

BTW, I would really like @consumerreports.org to watch this video and perhaps start breathing down the necks of those big companies for forcing everyone into using pre-dosed products.

That's the opposite of pro-consumer, imo.

Happy Election Day!

If you’re an Ohio voter with questions about how to navigate your polling place or ID requirements, I may be able to help. I was a poll worker for almost five years here in Columbus and generally know the ins and outs of the process.

Poll workers from other places, chime in!

Twelve years passes by fast but I still love @revrachelharrison.bsky.social as much now as I did then. We were just joking that twelve years is almost mundane because it isn't ten nor is it twenty.

What do you even say about a 12th wedding anniversary?

I say I'm thankful. And ready for 12 more.

Found a cool mushroom log yesterday. We couldn't tell if something was chomping on them or if the fallen ones were just the result of gravity.

Today we said goodbye to Shadow, the sweetest girl and the best adoptive mom.

She was always weird, sometimes bitey, obsessed with feet, and brave to a fault. I once watched her intimidate a child into giving her pizza. She gave the best hugs. Her life was beautiful in all the ways that matter.

I saw a TikTok post from a high school teacher talking about how kids have been wearing the Meta Ray Bans in class to record and its become a real problem, but they also can't get the kids to remove them because, technically, they're prescription glasses.

So, you know... A nightmare.
