I had to tell someone who is virtually homeless that the program designed specifically for people facing homelessness was shut down because of Tr*mp. This administration quietly destroys programs that keep people alive and then crucifies queer and BIPOC folx. It's rage-inducing and depressing.

I work with people who rely on federal and state programs to survive, and I can't understate how crushing it is to watch those programs get shut down in real time. Resources that we used to be able to rely on to support unhoused and at-risk people are literally falling apart.

After over 2 years of late nights, grad school assignments, fees, and tears (so many tears), I finally have the license I prayed for. 💜

It feels surreal to finally have the thing I sometimes doubted would materialize, but I'm thankful. I'm going to get a lot of sleep and have fun this weekend.

It makes me so angry because this is how we get to where we are today, and there are so many groups like the one I was in.

One thing I think I'll never stop being angry about is that the college ministry I attended not only tried so hard to illustrate the chaos and tragedy of the world as a "both sides" issue, but also managed to spit out people who believe it.

I have blocked and unfollowed many of these people. It is still so frustrating to see people - some who I have quite literally known since I was a child - come out of the woodwork to defend people who actively platform hate and violence.

Frustrated to see people I knew personally who voted for Tr*mp making posts about prayer.

They voted for someone who ran on annihilating the rights of others and securing the "freedom" of hatefulness. The choice to be sentimental instead of accountable for the violence they contributed to is gross.
