For anyone curious about me, this is my current big plant project.

It's an 18x18x24 ExoTerra tropical terrarium (vivarium) for my ferns and micro-orchids, started in November 2022.
Working on a little wood frog carving to go with my beetle.

Nepenthes platychila is mainly known for the amazing peristome (collar) on its upper pitchers, but even an immature lower pitcher like this is pretty great.

Friendly onychophoran vibes from the fuzz and fringes. 🌴 🌱

Drawdown species at Wilstone Reservoir. OK, so we know about the Norfolk Bladder-moss (Physcomitrium eurystomum), Riccia cavernosa, Mudwort (Limosella aquatica)--- but what's the green filamentous stuff? It's the largest constituent of mud-pioneer species. It physically competes with the others.

Might be my best pic yet of a bloom from my Trisetella strumosa mini orchid. You can see the tongue in this one if you look close.

I can’t think of many rural terms I like more than “witches’ knickers” - to describe old black bin bags caught in fences, hedgerows and trees.

A few shots from yesterday's too-late-in-the-afternoon forest adventure.

Curse you daylight savings time!

#WinterSolstice can't get here soon enough!

Thankfully I brought some new lights to continue experimenting with DSLR manual focus adjustments & using focus stacking software.

I really want to like eating onions because they're in everything, but I just dont like anything about them. I dont like the texture, I dont like the flavor, I dont like how cooked onions look. 💀

'In the winter garden' - my favourite geometric garden aerial that I've ever done! I don't remember if I shared it here or not yet - it has camellia bushes in the centre and beds of winter heather and hellebore :) the geometric landscapes are always more challenging and I love that! #embroidery

The problem with seeding my large tropical terrarium with as many spore kits as possible, is that that I have no idea what anything is when it comes up.

Though it does look cool af and it's fun to see what ends up growing where.

Any fern people know what type of little fern(?) this is that keeps sprouting up in my tropical terrarium? It's started showing up as volunteers.
