Yeah it’s me. The random sweary woman that loves food and horror movies and the odd espresso martini 😉
Fantastic news. Vaccines at work. A reminder also to women to not forget to get their pap smear too. I got mine today. Do you know that you can now self administer the test? Something my GP informed me today. #womenshealth

Appalling from any Govt. An absolute betrayal from Albanese who spruiked about growing up in housos with a Mum on disability. As someone raised in a similar situation, I learned to spot a bullshit artist. He never got my vote.

Forget what you know about bushwalking and survival. The Tasmanian bush is different from anywhere else.
Never go alone, carry an EPIRB, notify authorities where you’re going and for how long and do not deviate!
Better still, pay for a guide, survival is measured in minutes here at times.

Sitting in the Dr‘s waiting my appointment. One of the morning shows is on the TV. I looked up just in time to see that CC (closed caption) has translated “Cheese & Charcuterie“ to “ Cheese & Jacuzzi” and honestly I’m on board.

Now heading into the 3rd week of a broken/missing lid on our red bin. Which means I will be calling Council a 3rd time today. Meanwhile my bin remains out the front so anyone can dump their rubbish (including dog 💩 bags) into it and it’s marinating in 30+ heat 🤮

😱 this story had me frantically googling the product recall information after giving coloured sand to my nephew last Xmas. Thankfully it wasn’t on the list. I imagine there’s plenty of people that have done the same.

Need to vent: Lid broken from our red bin (it happens) ring Council yesterday and told to leave out and they will replace lid. So far my bin now contains a dog shit bag, takeaway food and a coffee cup… if it’s not replaced by tomorrow I’m going to bring it back in the yard. /1

After 3hrs in the garden in 30*C heat I think I’ve earned this…it’s got ALL the good things in it and I’m supporting a small Aussie company.

In 2020, Australia massively increased welfare payments and conducted a live experiment in ending poverty, but when the subsidy was removed, many were thrown back into hardship. Leaving aside the moral dimension, would it be cheaper to end poverty than to maintain it?
Is it cheaper to end poverty than to maintain it? Research says yes

Tough day. Visiting with a family member with terminal cancer. I have a lot of thoughts about the Charlie Kirk situation but I’m refraining on commenting because I really don’t need that kind of energy in my life right now.

Unfortunately Jessica, Albo got his marching orders from Lachie a while ago, as did Minns. There’s a photo of the three of them looking very friendly out there.…according to reports after a meeting.
#Auspol. Lachlan is said said to be more right wing than Rupert. Not good for America, Australia and the world. We need a Royal Commission into Murdoch media and in fact all media, including Social media. We need truth in media legislation. End the propaganda @albomp.bsky.social

Let's pair this story with other story, one which the theft article doesn't address: "1 in 8 households don’t have the money to buy enough food: Food insecurity is widespread and shaped by disadvantage – and has serious health consequences"

Rising theft is hitting retailers hard. But it’s worth considering what we’d miss if even toothpaste and instant coffee were locked up – as they have been overseas.
‘Fortress stores’ can fight theft – but is it how we want to shop?

Gotta a query about something government related? Get onto this ⬇️
#Auspol #FOI
The federal government wants fewer FOIs.

Crikey wants more. We know filing FOIs can be daunting — so let us do it for you!

For the next few weeks, we're accepting ideas for requests that we'll take, shape, file and then will keep you in the loop when we hear back.

It’s confronting going into the city these days. Very sad to see the homeless people. We gave some cash to a young woman. I talked to her for about 15mins. Aged out of foster care, not enough support from charities (CEO wages?). We need to do better. 😢

In the city for a weekend staycation we had to delay a couple of months due to both coming down with a nasty cold. Really looking forward to it and then I broke my pinky toe by catching it on the skirting board 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m such a klutz. No heels for me but I’m determined to limp through it 😂

#Indigenous people genuinely need your support against #Fascism in #Australia. We literally can't stop these people because they don't see us as human, and our numbers are too small. Our voice is silenced by both of these things. No matter how loudly we shout. Please, #Fight with us, #auspol.

You’re asking me to jog on while you’re promoting #terfs and #bigots ? Just come out and say you’re anti trans.
🤣😂😆🤣😂😂 jog on.
Ideological differences? They are terf bigots. I didn’t listen to them because I’ve heard their bigotry before. C’mon do you really think posting this is appropriate in the current climate of attacks against minorities??

Random couple convo:
MrG; I reckon you’d like Guinness
Me: I don’t like beer
MrG: It’s different to other beer and you’ve got Irish DNA…
Me: Well… Bintang Radler
MrG: You tolerate that because it’s hot
Me: True
Stay tuned he will attempt to get me to try it at some point 😬
