Let's talk about what the process of submitting short fiction used to look like, shall we? And about what it looks like now.

Today's timeline is experiencing meme death. Where "tell me your..." variations have just swamped everything. And sure some of it amuses/outrages, but it kinda overwhelms too.

Write the book you would like to see someone pull from a higgledy piggledy pile in a secondhand shop 63 years after your death and say, "This looks fucking weird. I think I will buy it for Joan."

Pop Will Eat Itself just released a new album, "Delete Everything". It's still very PWEI, unlike most "wait 10 years" albums in the electronic/industrial world it doesn't feel phoned in at all so far, It's not This Is The Day, but it's a solid PWEI album. pwei.bandcamp.com
Pop Will Eat Itself
10 years since their last release, PWEI are back with this electro punk banger, a firm live favourite and the first track from their new project. “Bruiser was inspired by a classic Aussie rock track,...

Horrortober VI: Miracle Drug

Rai is a mess but at least he's a colorful pretty mess 😔🩷

[ #SPL/CE #horrortober ]
Trippy and colorful drawing of a man with his split tongue stuck out at the viewer, his eyes and tongue and nose dripping with black, viscous fluids. A myriad of toy capsules, pills, and gacha bunny prizes swirl around him in a neon haze.

I picked up book 1 because of the cover, i love Eleanor's work. But I definitely enjoyed enough to pre-order this new one. As I said earlier, I've started reading, did 1st 3 chapters before bed last night and have it sitting beside my (decaf) coffee just now.

Right. Sketchbooking done for now. Time to go do the nice drawing.
A tiny little rat figure at the bottom of a page tells: “I AM NOT A FLY ON THE WALL IN THE ROOMS OF POWER (I AM A RAT WITH RAT THINGS TO DO) SO I DON’T KNOW THIS FOR CERTAIN. BUT I AM PRETTY FUCKING AURE A LOT OF THE BULLSHIT CHOICES - MADE FOR SHORT TERM GAINS AND GREED - THAT HAVE LED US TO THIS COLLECTIVE HELL WERE NOT ACTUALLY THE ONLY OPTION. THIS DISGUSTS ME.”

Little rat is clearly quite irritated.

Seeing an effort now to dismiss Israel’s genocide of Palestinians as “Netanyahu’s genocide.”

He wouldn’t be able to do this without overwhelming buy-in from all of Israel’s institutions military, legal, media, electoral,
educational, cultural and business— and its public.

There are also badges, prints and a zine at

A pen and ink drawing.
Panel One:
A woman sits in a chair reading happily in a book-filled room.
 A voice offstage says
"You can't survive on books alone"
The woman replies
"Maybe I can!"

Panel Two:
"How?" asks the voice
"I don't know yet, but I'm sure the answer will be in one of my books." Says the woman

Panel Three:
Caption: However
The book is filled with yet more books.
A skull sits on the chair. It says
"I regret nothing!"
