For my first main character, Tyler, his motivation for his goals is trying to outrun the pain his family caused him from being unappreciative and neglect. With Mike, his motivation is very similar, wanting to escape the guilt from his family name and the pain from an ex partner.

My two main characters have goals that will have them grow emotionally. In Tyler’s case, he has two goals:
Main One: Finding his own form of happiness
Secondary: Survival
For Mike’s case, he also has two goals:
Main One: Rebuilding his life
Secondly: Repairing his mental health

Just to clarify, my two main characters are the young genius named Tyler and a janitor who works at the school and has a soft spot for Tyler named Mike. They are both inspired by the tv show #GravityFalls , Tyler is inspired by Dipper and Mike is inspired by Soos and another Mike in #BreakingBad

The main characteristic of the setting that matters to the idea is the small town setting that allows the main character to move without constant need of transport and to keep up with his plan for the summer. Plus, it takes place in Delaware during the spring and summer of 1991.

Two MC’s would suit my WIP, my initial ideas for them include bonding over pain from family, having their shared living space be at risk of being shut down, having some personality conflicts, and having a side character/potential 3 MC that helps them both and acts as an inbetween.

My initial ideas for my WIP include two tropes, Family and The Mentor. Having small amounts of tragedy for the main character’s main archetype as The Rebel. All of these things are apart of the main themes, Friendship, Family, Love, Childhood, and Survival.
