We must understand the context for all this. Trump needs Hegseth to be in exactly the position he is in now in 2026, 2027, and 2028, as it is not clear that anyone but a committed white nationalist, Christofascist militant would help Trump with the martial law he intends. There are flyers circulating and even mailers showing up in people’s mailboxes in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District that list the wrong date for the upcoming special election. Voters are being told to vote on the incorrect day.
