The mindset of "people will just optimize anyways so why even give people any choices to make" is one of the worst things to happen to game design across all types of game. Maybe figuring it out is fun. Maybe some suboptimal choices are fun and not that impactful. Fuck you

I think after seeing it in action in beta a lot of the catastrophizing over the class changes in WoW is overblown. The philosophy seems to be centered on stripping back uninteresting buttons in order to zero in on what makes each class fun and unique and I think broadly that's what the game needs

last iisu post but I feel like I'm going crazy because besides the obviously nonfunctional but slick mockups it kinda looks bad to use. like even in their pie in the sky mockups they fuck up what actually made nintendo's UI good. Are people really excited enough to want to preorder this
