Come here for a weird nexus of sports fandom, history, especially naval history, and various forms of traditional nerdity.
Anyway here’s an entire lifetime of interest in naval affairs and we’re now murdering innocents on the high seas for social media lols and clicks.

Fuck these people.
Always thinking about this bit of dialogue from Jedi: Survivor

60,000 is the *low end* estimate.
So, El Fasher looks like one of the worst single event atrocities to happen this century so far, but the evidence has come in such a trickle it seems to only now be getting verified
At least 60,000 murdered in Sudanese city, which resembles ‘a slaughterhouse’
Satellite evidence shows extent of paramilitary massacre in El Fasher

I mean I want Michigan to get DeBoer….

Mostly because I really want Michigan OC Nick Sheridan to be A Thing.
What if the only one they wanted was DeBoer? Like, I'm not counting Lanning/Freeman here, or Minter.

I want Eck, so my opinion is a relatively low bar for what is a good idea.

That he’s saying this to Konata from Lucky Star is fraying the edges of reality a bit too much.

The OG Eureka Seven movie got a one night screening in theaters; when the movie started the audio track didn’t come on at first but instead we got some synthpop instrumental music that normally accompanies commercials or something, but it synced with the picture enough nobody noticed or complained.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

(Sighs)
I used to live in Arkansas, which seemed to be making progress on education until a wave of Christofascist ignorance embraced by Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders pushed the state back into the Stone Age.
Arkansas becoming 1st state to sever ties with PBS, effective July 1
The commission that oversees public television in Arkansas has voted to sever ties with PBS, making it the first state to end its contract with the broadcast giant.

Feel like 1988 is an overlooked factor here. Republicans got a third term and with a fucking landslide; vast majority of Democratic presidential hopefuls punted 1992 on the spot.
Yeah, it would seem that Democrats took all the wrong lessons from 1980 and 1984, but then again, they've been taking the wrong lessons from every ass whooping they've absorbed for 40+ years now. Never in American history has a party been more skilled at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I cannot imagine not having PBS available. When I was a kid, we had two channels: AETN (as it was known at the time) and the local ABC affiliate. I grew up with Sesame Street, Electric Company, 321 Contact, Doctor Who, and more. (1/3)

No firing needs to be so immediate that you can’t bring in HR and security

Yeah Manuel needs to go because this is horrible judgment again.
Michigan had been alerted prior to Wednesday that Sherrone Moore was dealing with mental health issues yet Warde Manuel fired him alone with no HR rep and no security present, source told NBC Sports.
