This has honestly worried me for a long time - Native sisters, does your community have cultural pathways to address perimenopause and menopause? Have we had this conversation about how boarding schools broke our medicine knowledge for women's health, and how we're working to reclaim it?
And if you're Native, there's a chance the elder women in your community were sterilised and didn't know it, so never went through menopause, or they never reached the age to get to menopause.
The average lifespan in my oyate is 47.

Whew, my 'tisms do be 'tisming this winter. I believe this is a sign to slow my holiday roll and relax a little bit. Had some plans for fancy Xmas holiday spread - we Go Big at our haus - but I think I'm shelving a good portion of them.

Baking was somewhat unsuccessful yesterday, but my fault for trying to bake with gluten-free flour in a storm (humidity levels, whoochile). Still edible speculaas, but terrible presentation.
I will give myself a pass, because my husband will still eat the stuff with a spoon.

The reason I don’t post pictures of suffering in Gaza even though I’m asked to at times is because I lived through a decade of folk posting basically snuff films of Black people back when we thought we could convince society our lives matter. It convinced no one. But it did fuck up my mental health.
