I cannot stress this enough, and I am tired of saying it: British white people, everything you are seeing in the US is coming here and you cannot watch Eurovision or Great British Bakeoff or sign petitions and think you can stiff-upper-lip or ignore your way out of this.

Learn to be UNCOMFORTABLE.

No.

Our mask requirement is not "virtue signalling".

It's protecting a) the cancer patient and b) the child who is still too small to wear a mask.

And also--and I can't emphasize this strongly enough--you.

They'd do that anyway. We have to stop worrying about what the fascists say. They're FASCISTS. Who cares about their opinions and handwringing?

The Fox Brides of Hookland folklore are more than a placing the witch as a transforming thing, as shapeshifting seductress. They are a powerful linking of her power to woods and wild places; they are a fear-telling of ferality, her place outside society’s rigid structures. – #EmilyCBanting #WitchSky

I once gave a few British friends a "Life in the UK" test as I was required to do for British citizenship.

Not one of them passed.

Seeing this coming home with my kids would have put another "confrontational parent" tick against my name with a quickness and I regret nothing.

Let's gooooooooooooooo. I know that area!

I know. I see you, I hear you, I witness. It isn't fair how the world moves when I can't keep up.

You are important, and can put yourself ahead of your responsibilities so you can perform those responsibilities. This is a difficult lesson to learn, and I am still a student.

Trying to give myself grace, but man it's a pita to have my paints, sketchbook, everything finally right here, and I'm so wiped on antibiotics I don't have the energy to paint a thing.

Meh. Whinge. And so on.

Hau, I witness. Sounds like you need hospital now if you can't get pain/swelling under control. Save yourself first if you can. And if you have to give a mutual aid shoutout, do that.

I think if this is the rule then everyone on my local facebook should be required to do the same or be deported, because motherfuckers I *know* you know the difference between "of" and "off" I was in the same goddamn lessons as you all when we were nine

Silence is compliance. I don't give anyone a pass just because they're pretending it will go away in the most British way possible.

Aye. I live in Scotland. Wool is plentiful! But people rarely use it. At the same time, there's always calls for yarn here, so maybe I can do something about that with the right tools. We've got mending clubs for fixing things, and I can manage to make my 3ply thread here, I might be able to help.

Hm. Interesting! I have questions about the amount of rock - I spin fast - so need to look at better stability but this is interesting. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTtq...

What day and what time you have a stroke has a massive impact on the care you get.

Nowhere in Scotland delivers thrombectomy overnight and weekend access is limited. Thrombolysis is not available 24/7 either.

When every minute matters, that is dangerous. www.holyrood.com/inside-polit...
'Stroke care is very good if you give it a chance – but often it doesn’t have the resources'
Stroke patients are being failed by huge gaps in the service. Fixing the problem could bring wider benefits to the NHS

I'm feeling some kinda way about how quiet Tennant and Sheen got with their little bromance once Gaiman was unmasked, too. Not a word was said by either.

I really want to start spinning again; I don't knit, not even sure I can even wear wool anymore, but it's a meditation and I enjoy it.

And fibrecraft seems to be becoming important again...

Just wish they weren't all upwards of £400, we don't have that kinda scratch.

It’s funny how black people are expected to reach across the aisle to voters like these, while no one ever expects them to reach across the aisle to black people. Amazing who gets to be human, and who doesn’t.

POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

Went back for one day and our children brought covid home. One now has long covid, other has developed epilepsy. I want to kick myself for okaying it - I knew it was wrong. But here we are.

These inquiries are so useless. These should be trials. People died and they're all just pointing fingers.
