What day and what time you have a stroke has a massive impact on the care you get.

Nowhere in Scotland delivers thrombectomy overnight and weekend access is limited. Thrombolysis is not available 24/7 either.

When every minute matters, that is dangerous. www.holyrood.com/inside-polit...
'Stroke care is very good if you give it a chance – but often it doesn’t have the resources'
Stroke patients are being failed by huge gaps in the service. Fixing the problem could bring wider benefits to the NHS

"When you have emergency departments working at double capacity, they’re dealing with twice as many people as they’re resourced to do, those people cannot get the care that they’re supposed to get."

Stroke patients are being failed on multiple fronts. My long-read: www.holyrood.com/inside-polit...

"This is agriculture minister Jim Fairlie’s defining moment. Is being an MSP everything he dreamed it would be? Is this the topic he hoped to focus on when he was invited into government?"

MSPs have voter down the Right to Recovery Bill.

Con, Lab and Lib Dems backed general principles, but SNP and Greens said too many concerns about delivery and practicality. www.holyrood.com/news/view,sc...

The issue is not immigration. It never was.

The issue is that huge swathes of the country feel failed by the state and the “snake oil merchants”, as Starmer dubbed them, who seek to place the blame on immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers. www.holyrood.com/comment/view...
Until this country faces down the far-right, I won’t take any pride in our flags
Flags have long been co-opted for nefarious purposes – the prime minister has finally recognised that

It's not that long ago that I wrote: "While [Starmer's] not expected to be ousted imminently, Labour figures are now publicly and privately saying he has until May to turn things around." News comes at you first in politics 😅

Poor electoral performance in Scotland (as well as the Senedd’s election Wales and local elections in England) could be the final nail in the coffin for Starmer's premiership. Bute House is not the only residence that hangs in the balance next year.
