I don’t know enough about foreign investment to comment but I would LOVE to see big corporate real estate investment groups broken up and outlawed. No way should corporations be allowed to own (hundreds of) buildings with the sole aim being to provide their investors good returns. Disgusting greed.

Was coming here to say that exact thing. Our first condo in Vancouver was 285k in 2013. It was built in 1976! And even then it cost almost 100k more than the single detached home we bought in 2022 in Nova Scotia. (built in 1957)
New construction is out of reach. Period.

This is pepper, our neighbourhood cat. We think she has people, but we can’t be sure. If she’s still wandering the neighbourhood when the weather turns, we will take her to the vet to be scanned for a microchip.

Oh no! 😟 I’m so sorry to hear about this. Hopefully Mom isn’t downplaying how she’s feeling. Having been in a crash myself (someone ran a stop sign and then ran into me), I felt fine until the day after and then all the aches and pains kicked in. Better check on her tomorrow just in case! ♥️

I’ve been working since age 15 and have always happily paid my income taxes knowing they are used for social programs, infrastructure, etc. Now 53, this was the first time I’ve used a program beyond basic healthcare and I’ll happily keep working and paying whatever I can for the benefit of us all.🇨🇦
