today’s college class turned pretty quickly into “eat the rich”, and we were all here for it (including the professor!)

compsci professor laid the smackdown today: “all AI slop submissions get a 0 going forward, no second chance”

in a class total of ~80 (between in-person and online) I think I’m fine

gotta wonder what % of the class is cooked, though

on one hand, AI tools are very good at bouncing ideas off of to help reinforce learning - this can be a legitimately very great tool for education (with caveats! gotta be sure to double-check and verify)

on the other hand, I couldn't resist

age verification restrictions are inherently unjust even if you solve all the issues around privacy or data leaks

gating access to information based on intrinsic traits (yes even age, yes even porn) is fundamentally evil and provides no real benefit other than the censor’s moral self-indulgence
