Following on from the other day's stollen, I'm thinking I might make "sconnen".
NT fruit scone recipe but with some of the sultanas swapped out for candied peel, cranberries and mini chunks/coarse gratings of marzipan. And the stollen spices obviously.

Meatless balls (made with lentils, pine nuts, spices, mirepoix and breadcrumbs) in a tomato harissa sauce.
Middle eastern spice crusted vegetables (potato, onion, red pepper, courgette).
Bread to mop up.
650 kcal.

First bake using the new beast.
"Stollenish". Its a trad. stollen recipe, but rather than a roll of marzipan running through, I cubed it and mixed in.
I need to rethink the prove to get a better texture (its by no means bad though) but the flavour is spot on.

M&S have finally let me down.
I've been buying their trousers/jeans for many years and always in the same waist/leg measurement.
Until yesterday. A lovely olive/khaki pair of jeans. I can't fasten them. You'd be able to see what religion I am.
I refuse to go up a size so refund it is 😂

One of these will be hung off each dining chair on Christmas Day when we have guests for dinner. This is me using up salt dough shapes I had left over from the garland. I've still got more to use somehow.

Oooooh a Kenwood food mixer *half price* at John Lewis (also a good looking Bosch one for similar price). Wonder if P can be persuaded.

The only pre-made Christmas food we'll have this year will probably be the limoncello panettone I got the other day, a jar of mincemeat (which we'll bulk up) and some pigs in blankets. Otherwise, it'll be the usual meat, dairy, fruit, veg and lots of homemade stuff.

We've never watched The Traitors. Thought we'd give the Celebrity version a go.
Am I enjoying it? Sort of. Enough to watch.
Its overly long and messy. Too much fake tension building and reality tv stylings. Episodes could be much shorter.
Nice staging. Interesting challenges.

I was commissioned to make a birthday cake for the husband of a member of the local Townswomen's Guild. Look away if you don't like lemons 😂
