World’s best pizza. Beautiful historic shoreline. Pretty good public policy.
Connecticut is the BEST place to live! Excited more people will be able to afford to experience it with us! 🎉
‼️ Gov. Lamont has signed HB8002! This bill represents a big step in the right direction for facing CT’s housing shortage. Congrats to Gov. Lamont and his team, our legislative champions, municipal leaders, and advocates who are creating a new pro-homes consensus in CT!

Correction: Worst Road Design in America
The engineering profession is truly a marvel. They make the most batshit crazy, worst-designed highway interchanges and fill Waterbury with high-speed state stroads…then the residents get blamed for their driving!

I wonder if Keith Phaneuf is on the GOP payroll yet. His reporting and click-bait headlines have been so disappointing. Does he not realize people don’t care what the super-minority party is saying at public press events…..

There remain many people of good will in the U.S. govt, men and women who believe that

–official statistics should be true and not just whatever Trump wants them to be;

–decisions about vaccination should be based on science;

–the former FBI director up on bogus charges should not be perp walked:
"WASHINGTON, Oct 3 (Reuters)—An FBI agent was relieved of duty for declining to arrange a 'perp walk' of the bureau's former director, James Comey, in front of news media cameras after Comey was federally charged last month, four people briefed on the matter said."

What is this “brazen, anti-democratic campaign” against Chair Gillett and PURA?

Here’s a thread🧵 of *some* of their bad-faith shit over the last couple of years. Please add any stories or moments I’m leaving out!
The utilities have run one of the most brazen, anti-democratic campaigns against Chair Gillett and PURA I’ve ever seen, and these texts are a non-story.

In the Trump Era [waves hand at all the corruption] you’d have been feckless or bought to cave under this crap.

Vote on CT PURA chairwoman's confirmation put on hold amid text messages being released
The dispute centers on electronic text messages between the chairwoman and a state representative discussing an opinion piece on the utilities.

Native to CT. Greenwich CT has been doing a good job incorporating into public planting
People just can’t get enough of pawpaws.

But you won’t find them in most grocery store aisles, and you may not even recognize the name — much less have tasted the fruit. So what's all the hype about?
What is a pawpaw, and will I ever be able to buy it at the grocery store?
The pawpaw fruit is native to North America — but hard to get your hands on. Researchers and farmers weigh in on what the future of pawpaws might look like.

Since Trump returned, household electricity prices have risen 10%. Cause = Trump’s policies: tariffs on imported components, elimination of energy credits, and block wind/solar.

CT: invested $300M to redevelop State Pier as a hub for offshore wind— now at risk thanks to Trump’s order halting wind

CT is the best state to live in the country, yet there are no homes for people to live here (and grow our economy). Need to work 70hrs/week at min wage just to afford a 1BR.

We need a special session now!

Connecticut has allowed so much consolidation of medical providers that now, this has huge impact. There will be almost no providers left in the state that can provide critical care.
Yale watched Columbia and thought: “how do I surrender, too?”

Every elite institution apparently full of cowards and bootlickers. Then again you can understand, if Yale lost federal funding they’d have to dip into their $40+ billion endowment
News that YNHH will no longer provide medication for gender-affirming care services comes a day after a similar announcement from CCMC.

Disappointing to see fares increase - CT has some of the worst congestion and air quality in the nation along I95, and an incredible train service that runs parallel, yet Lamont keeps hiking fares?

ctmirror.org/2025/07/03/c...
CT Rail, Metro-North fares set to rise by 10% by July 2026
The DOT said the hike is needed to fill a gap between how much money the agency requested for rail services and what the CT budget included.

Connecticut is one of the best places to live.

People really want to live here (see housing market).

There are not enough houses and it’s artificially expensive to live here.

We made it this way and we can change this - HB5002 was going to do just that. We need a #specialsession for housing
