After spending 43 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, evidence hidden by the prosecution reversed his conviction. Rather than finally enjoying freedom, ICE abducted him for deportation

It’s important to understand that the demonization of ‘Antifa’ isn’t just about kneecapping the enemies of MAGA. It’s about creating an opportunity to bring down the law-enforcement apparatus on anyone who dares dissent.

Yesterday I was told that the class I’m scheduled to teach this month, Confronting Oppression & Injustice, is no longer part of our curriculum. This is a required class yet there was no discussion, no faculty vote, just an email saying the class no longer exists. This is what it’s like in Texas now.

Excellent thread on how the right projects political violence onto the left. They consistently reframe violence perpetrated by right-wing affiliated people as leftist. This isn’t new and is a common tactic of their projection and distraction.
davidneiwert.bsky.social
This has always been part of the GOP playbook: Downplay incidents of right-wing violence, and then repurpose them as supposed acts of leftist terrorism for public consumption. They first did this in 2020.

Bondi: "We've been living through a horrific cycle of political violence in this country ... night after night antifa wrecks havoc on the streets of our cities. In Minnesota, a gunman murdered a state lawmaker and her husband."

I feel like these guys never got to the part of literally any color revolution or scifi movie or famous Super Bowl commercial where the regime's symbolic omnipresence just creates endless potential sparks of revolution.

Hadn’t realized we reached the Fascist Leader Talking In An Endless Loop At Sites Of Mass Transit stage of the dystopia.

Good to know.

For the record, Andy Ngo had a milkshake dumped on him and was punched at the rally he refers to. This was after years of him cozying up to Patriot Prayer, Proud Boys, and other fascists as well as making lists of “antifa” members that became an Atomwaffen hit list.
professorstas.bsky.social
I can’t believe he actually mentioned the milkshakes that he claimed had concrete in them. That’s the supposed bloodlust that he’s referring to.

Now that the local and national press have started to cover the Portland ICE area round-the-clock in reaction to the President, Antifa have devised a plan where they are encouraging one another to come in animal costumes.

The costumes serve the function of masking the violent extremism to make the direct action appear like a family-friendly gathering on camera, and to whitewash the past ultraviolence.

In 2019, Antifa devised a similar plot by giving out free "milkshakes" at a protest. But they couldn't contain their bloodthirst and nearly killed me when they saw me. In 2020, they mobilized a fake "Wall of Moms" where female Antifa supporters and members wore yellow shirts to act as human body shields while violent rioters behind them hurled projectile weapons.

At this point, they’re just throwing out labels that they think are epithets at their political opponents. Anyone who thinks a milquetoast liberal rally is “antifa,” “pro-Hamas,” and “Marxist” is just telling on themselves as a fascist.
atrupar.com
Mike Johnson: "This hate America rally that they have coming up for October 18? The antifa crowd, the pro-Hamas crowd, and the Marxists, they're all gonna gather on the Mall. It is an outrageous gathering for outrageous purposes ... all this has gotta come to an end."

The guy Trump picked to lead the office that’s now investigating Jack Smith:

— said Niki Haley is ineligible to be president
— has neo-Nazi ties
— was Andrew Tate’s lawyer
— 2x Claremont fellow
— wrote for Gateway Pundit
— called for Pence to be hanged
— called for secession after 2020 election

In or about 2017, Jack Posobiec told his followers that he “worked closely” w/ the Oath Keepers. (h/t @michaelehayden.bsky.social) More recently, he’s glorified Francisco Franco, Spain’s deceased murderous dictator. Naturally, Trump included him in his recent anti-“antifa” roundtable. Sound on. 1/

The Mark Bray situation is so completely fucked right now and if you're a journalist you need to start saying how it's fucked because you're fucking next. They won't stop at academics.

I wrote about Chicago: "Is this city burning? There is a definite answer to the question. In all these cities, the answer is no. No American city is currently on fire, and if Chicago is a war zone, it’s because it’s being invaded by the president."

The real threat to people in Chicago (and Los Angeles and Portland) is our maniacal president.

the comparative dearth of reporting on NSPM-7 is in part, speaking generously, due I think to how a lot of elite media looks at it like a rant. They are accustomed to things like that being serious legal documents for them to have impact, and in a saner environment, that would be the case. But…

Letitia James and James Comey have the best lawyers on earth and will almost certainly be fine. The fact that there’s a zillion stories about them and virtually none about NSPM-7 - which affects countless ordinary people - really says something about who the media writes for

My career is listening to people who flee places that get increasingly unsafe. A few months of "wait & see" can make a world of difference for safety & prospects. I've lived under authoritarianism myself.

Leticia James getting indicted, Mark Bray trying to flee & being stopped.

This is not okay.

You cannot reason with a fascist. You can’t endear yourself to a fascist. They will turn on everyone, including their own family, their allies, their sycophants and collaborators.

Fascists hate themselves and they hate the world. This doesn’t stop unless it is stopped.

Framing it as Trump simply going after his political enemies is misleading because to a fascist every other living person is their political enemy.

You’re his political enemy. You just haven’t been identified yet.

It’s really hard to post this. I know that there are a lot of other important issues asking for money but things have gotten to the point where we need to open ourselves up to your support.

Thank you for your consideration.

a classic fascist archetype is the failed and resentful artist, intellectual, professional, or entrepreneur, because the movement gives once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these mediocrities and nobodies to rise through party ranks and mass larp their grand delusions of a successful career

The federal government is basically being run now by the algorithmically amplified, right wing grifter industrial complex, as exemplified by this weirdo from Washington state who was flown in for Trump’s Antifa round table.

I'm living proof that you can recover from TDS. I had strong Trump Derangement Syndrome for 8 years. It's much better to not have TDS...I was one of you. I was a mainstream reporter in Seattle for 10 yrs. When I saw after all those years that the media wouldn't be honest about what was happening, that Democrat politicians would not be honest about what was happening, I thought, 'If they're not being honest about that, maybe they're not being honest about President Trump either.
