25 hrs in America: Thankful that everytime S. Thurmonds speech against civil rights is mentioned we can say that @booker.senate.gov now holds the record. That instead of limiting rights, as ST did Booker tried to sway hearts/minds to save our Democracy.

Not a big victory, but a nice symbolic one

That is a record that NEEDS to be broken.
If Sen. Cory Booker makes it to 7:19 p.m. EST, he will break segregationist Dixiecrat Strom Thurmond's record for his 24 hour 18 minute Senate floor speech against the Civil Rights Act of 1957.

Are you watching? @booker.senate.gov has been speaking for over 18 hours. I don't know what this will do but I honor the effort.
“These are not normal times in our nation,” Sen. Cory Booker said. “And they should not be treated as such in the United States Senate. The threats to the American people and American democracy are grave and urgent, and we all must do more to stand against them.” to.pbs.org/443mU11

Booker took to the Senate floor Monday evening and was still speaking Tuesday morning more than 14 hours later, saying he'd remain there as long as he was "physically able."

@contingent-mag.bsky.social my mom replied to you how the photo of 3 girls reading in your recent email is a painting in our family home.

What she didn't tell you is that she put me and my sisters in matching outfits and posed us to match that image.

❤️ that she subscribes after the q&a w/me.

On this trip I have finished four books while slow rolling through Wind and Truth.

But lets take a moment to give a shout out to @runwithskizzers.bsky.social "Payal Mehta's Romance Revenge Plot" which was cute & ridiculous in all the right ways. Total Never Have I Ever vibes.

If you need a little joy right now and like musicals just let yourself experience the magic of #Wicked. Is it a long movie? Yes. Is it only half the story? Yes.

It does not matter. The entire cast is flawless, the voices are phenomenal, and BONUS there is an amazing library.

Also hello everyone. I am still in "moving" mode but for now here is something I wrote on Election Day reflecting on Monument Lab's summit this past July.
