Today's run sucked all the suck. Legs felt like cement, couldn't maintain a pace, just ugh.

Donating platelets this morning. Got my favorite phlebotomist and a couple of hours to read my library book (An Unkindness of Ghosts, by Rivers Solomon). It's a good way to start the day.

A little chilly out there for today's run, but I figure it encourages me to go faster. At least the sidewalks are mostly clear - I'll take cold over ice any day.

Back in the day, The Onion was a local paper, and one year they offered published Valentine messages, so my friend and I submitted ads that were simply the full names of our exes with the message "bite me," and it is a sign of my chronic immaturity that 30 years later it still makes me laugh.

My son just out there running a 1:07 half marathon. He trains so hard and consistently, I'm super impressed with him.
(But still, if he didn't look just like me, I'd swear they switched babies at the hospital.)
