I was unemployed for 7 months, every week I would see another project cancelled or studio shut down and think “well, fuck, that’s another 6-12 producers added to the group of us looking, applying to maybe 1-3 quality jobs available” and it sucked. It doesn’t reflect any of our skills or drive.
I can't emphasize this enough: If you're struggling to find work in games, you're not the only one and please don't blame yourself. The horrible state of the industry is unprecedented. The crash in the 80s and the recession in the late 2000s weren't as rough as this. There are so few opportunities.

Hey my fellow clicker idle games fans, I have a new one for you! Pocket Gecko! It's a cute little lizard friend that sits on the corner of the screen. You catch insects, and sell them to make money. The best part is how cute the lil guy is. And you can pet him and he makes little lizard noises.

I've been playing the promising demo for an idle clicker game called Catio Simulator. I built a cat patio and pet an endless stream of cats to adopt them. It'll be hard to write a micro review for what is perfection BUT I'll do my best.
