the Muppets have been real quiet since the Louvre heist
It's frightening how many people I am friends with or follow on LinkedIn who comment/like posts from LinkedIn lunatics. Also, I'm especially annoyed with the overall BS of corporate ideology.
Oh ho! Eyes are peeling @mozilla.org! Don't let this Michigander down!
Some sessions will be live streamed, yes! Keep your eyes on this space as we get closer to #MozFest for more details 👀
Just learned about #MozFest via LinkedIn (geeze) and I want to go! It's in Barcelona in November! Conf passes are only €45! Schedule looks amazing! BUT! Can't make it due to cost of travel and short lead time. And no virtual component other than Discord. :(
We do not discuss that nor check ingredients. We just assume they are taking a loss. Either way, it'll last me and Mr. Lisa quite a while!
I've spent my time on Bluesky for a bit. Time to get back to the grind!
Read. 👇(There are two other things you can do and yes, Google is evil, but it is helpful: Go to account settings > security > dark web report and to have Google remove results about you (name, address, phone number), go here myactivity.google.com/results-abou...)
Happy Amazon Prime Day! Amazon collects mountains of data about how you use the service, but there is a setting you can change to make it harder for the company to use that data to sell you more things. #OptOutOctober www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...
I'l have to get space on DIgital Ocean, create a DNS entry for the sub domain, and teach myself Docker to get it to work. Or I can "hire" Mr. Lisa to do this for me, which is an option. He needs a new project AND he knows Docker.
I have issues with companies like HootSuite, which charge zillions for their social media management apps. For the work I do, I would be in debt if I used them. Checking out open source apps and looking at MixPost, which looks really cool, has a reasonable flat rate. It's self-hosted with Docker.
I don't think I've ever stolen t-shirts or any kind of clothes from exes, as they were either too small or too big! I will say the t-shirts I bougth in the ealry '00s when I was traveling aborad are now too small but damned if I will part with them.
My county, and the next one over, are on it with the plowing. My area is run by the township, so we're typically last to be plowed. It was bad enough last season, I didn't go to work 2 or 3x? The guy who plows our driveway was on it as well. Cabin's windows are brand new and the car has beefy tires.
There was a company 20 yrs ago called Neighborhoodies (seems to be long since gone) who made hoodies with the name of your neighborhood blazen across your chest. I got one for my neighborhood, left it at a friend's house, and never got it back. So, I feel you. I have not forgiven that person.
I have five degrees (including two masters, of which one is a MLIS) and my other duties as assigned are: restocking bathrooms, vacuuming, watering plants, clearing spiders from the book drop, cutting out stickers to give to the kiddos, and more. So yep, that MLIS degree is worth it. /s
Before I went to grad school, I worked multiple jobs that involved restocking bathrooms

Two masters degrees and two professional library gigs later - still restocking bathrooms 📚
The company Mr. Lisa works for has ALL their shit in AWS so Mr. Lisa was hauled into work crack of dawn Lisa time to fix. DO NOT KEEP ALL YOUR SHIT IN ONE LOCATION.
"The Dog With No Ears." I was five. (I even "published" it by sewing the pages into a book with thread.)
I was thinking about early writing recently and I'm curious—short fiction writers: what is the earliest short story you remember finishing that wasn't for a school project or anything?

Not to be THAT dictionary, but…

It’s ‘per se,’ not ‘per say.’
It’s ‘dog-eat-dog world,’ not ‘doggy-dog world.’
It’s ‘hunger pangs,’ not ‘hunger pains.’
It’s ‘one and the same,’ not ‘one in the same.’
It's 'buck naked,' not 'butt naked.'
I bought two excellent things at Costco this past weekend:

- An extremely large pumpkin pie for $5.99, and it is very delicious
- My velour tracksuit in puke green for $18.99
I enjoy it! (I'd say "we" but Mr. Lisa is slowly getting over the idea of being rural.) It's over 50 years old (nothing compared to your delight) but we've been working on replacing/winterizing for a few years now. Last winter was our first full winter. 146" of snow! And we survived!
I live in an A-frame cabin in the woods. No, this is not the setup for a horror movie. Anyway, our heat is a gas stove in the common area. My office is in the loft of the A-frame. Heat rises. I'm sweating bullets over here. If we didn't have a ceiling fan up here, I'd be a puddle of mush.

I have 1 laptop VPN'd into a UK IP while other devices are US-based. Google picked up on this, signed me out of ALL devices, and asked me to change my password immediately, thinking the UK login was a hack. I changed my password and signed back in. Pain? Yes, but I wish this was a common thing.
I would watch a buddy movie with Ethan Hawke and Peter Dinklage all the live long day.
