Conversely I also really like hearing what folks like about things I dislike, because I always wanna have an understanding of things through nuance, even if it's not something I personally enjoy.

I think it requires a much more nuanced discussion when saying something's "bad", but when something's just not for you, it's not for you and I think that's easier to understand. Being into dev/podcasting/criticism I still like to hear what folks dislike about things I like, but it's not necessary.

The cats I've owned in the past definitely seemed to understand me playing games was a safe space. My second one took a bit, but once he understood he'd always curl up beside me.

Homura Hime demo fucking RIPS. Great Ys'like combat but more level-based and linear. Big emphasis on dodging/parrying, and it feels super good to get it. Platforming feels a little stiff but I don't hate it. It's also amazingly charming. I can't wait for this one.
